VAT rule changes could lead to more expensive Chinese goods - China
Recent changes to VAT rebates given by the Chinese government could lead to price increases of Chinese-made products.
The Chinese government has withdrawn the rebate it gave to new companies in order to offset start-up costs, and this could lead to price increases estimated at between 5-10%, though it remains to be seen if the price increases will be absorbed by the manufacturers themselves or lead to increased retail prices.
