After closing last December 30 with the purchase of the continental European division of Spicers, Unipapel has appointed Jean-Yves Sebaoun as Managing Director of Spicers Europe.

Over the past 12 years Sebaoun has held positions of responsibility at Spicers, having held until now the position of director of operations at the Company. In his new role, he is responsible for defining and implementing Spicers´ development plan for Europe, and will be accountable for the company´s country managers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Benelux.

Similarly, along these lines, as part of the integration process of Spicers into Unipapel, Javier María González Tejera has been appointed managing director for Distribution for Spicers in Spain, Rob Abrahams will serve as director of European purchasing at Spicers and Philippe Guillotin will be the new marketing director for Spicers in Europe.

In addition, Dennis Albers has been appointed European Category Director and Pieter Wolters has joined the team, also as a European Category Director. Both have had extensive experience in the Office products industry.

Unipapel acquired the continental Europe divisions last December 30 for 168 million pounds (€192 million1). This acquisition will see the distribution group´s turnover for office and school supplies rise to €1,300 million, hence converting the Spanish company into the leader in its sector in Europe.
