UK retail giant Tesco is among more than 10 bidders for Carrefour's assets in South East Asia, which includes Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, according to press reports.
Singapore-based retail group Dairy Farm and French retailer Casino are also in the bidding, but Wal-Mart has not entered the bid..
Carrefour said it made a net profit of 82 million euros (104 million dollars) in the first half, after a loss in the same period of 2009.
