French manufacturer of display systems Tarifold organized its first 'Sustainable Development Week', October 5-8, 2009.

Its goal was to make employees aware of their responsibilities concerning Sustainable Development and, more generally, help transform Tarifold into an environmentally-friendly company. Several events and meetings were organized for all staff: workshops on eco-citizenship, car-sharing, internal poster campaign, collection of corks, capsules, clothes and medicines, sales of cakes and pastry and donations for French Institute Pasteur.

Tarifold reports that the results of this first week are very encouraging:

• Car sharing generated a saving of 1 880 kilometres - a saving of 108 litres of petrol. This represents 260 kg of CO2 not in the atmosphere.

• Collections brought 21kg of capsules and 31kg of corks. Also 33 kg of clothes have been given to the French “Red Cross” and 6 kg of medicines returned to the Faculty of Pharmacy for recycling.

• Donations and sale of cakes allowed Tarifold to collect 5000 euros for the charity INSTITUTE PASTEUR.

On top of that, the organizing committee presented a new logo which will appear in all communication concerning Tarifold and Sustainable Development and on all eco-products of the brand!
