Stypen will close its factory in Joigny, located in the French department Yonne, in July 2008. Part of the Bic group since 2004, Stypen employs 61 people among whom 28 will join the Bic site in Montévrain, near Marne-la-Vallée, where production is going to be transferred.

Transfer possibilities to other Bic factories in France will be proposed to the other employees. The decision to close the Joigny factory was taken because of the lack of competitiveness of the factory in the context of increasing raw material costs.
