U.S. office furniture manufacturer Steelcase has agreed to a voluntary recall of about 11,000 of its Amia desk chairs due to a fall hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The pivot pins installed in the control mechanism under the chair seat can fall out, posing a fall hazard to a user, the commission said. The commission is charged with protecting the U.S. public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of thousands of consumer products.
