German writing instruments manufacturer Staedtler is organising the first World Kids Colouring Day, to be held on 6 May 2008. Money raised from the promotional day will go to support the child rights organisation Save the Children.

 

Children from all over the world over have been asked to colour and sell their most beautiful works with the proceeds going to support children in conflict affected states.

 

Staedtler will support all participating schools and kindergartens with campaign ideas,

tips, information and recognition of donation “champions.

 

“With the World Kids Colouring Day, we want to emphasise how important colouring is for child development,“ said Axel Marx, managing director of the Staedtler Group.
