Spicers makes 'green' commitment for marketing materials - England

Spicers has announced that, from 2008, all Spicers' marketing publications will be printed on 100% recycled paper or on part-recycled paper which has FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) accreditation. This will include all catalogues and mailers.

"We are such a large consumer of paper products that it was an obvious next step to opt for a completely recycled offering, where possible. Now around 90% of our paper use will be 100% recycled paper and the rest will be part recycled. All 'virgin' material used in our paper will be FSC accredited so we can be sure it is from sustainable sources," explains Andrew Kureishy, Business Development Director at Spicers.

Consumers are increasingly interested in and motivated by energy-saving, 'green' and ethically-traded products. To help dealers maximise the potential of the market for these products, Spicers has introduced a new 'green' products mailer for 2008 - Going Green. This mailer will have 16 pages packed full of the latest environmentally friendly and 'green' products across a wide range of sectors from coffee to copier paper and ring binders to rechargeable batteries. It will also feature interesting environmental facts and figures, plus useful tips on 'going green' in the office.

Following the success of FliCKi, the on-screen Big Book with 'turnable' pages, Spicers is developing a FliCKi Green Book - making the most of the 'green' advantages of a catalogue that is fully 'browseable', but uses no paper. This will be available by 2008.

There are also plans for a business machines mailer on-line. E-tech online will be based on the successful e-tech mailer, featuring around 150 products from the leading manufacturers, but will be updated monthly to include the latest product launches complemented by aggressive pricing and monthly special deals.
