Has the left-handed writing problem been solved? Yes it has, according to Mike Deacon and Anthony Hemmings from UK firm M.A.D Associates who launched their unique Swan Neck Pens in May. The M.A.D. acronym is derived from three directors' names, Mike, Anthony and Dillon.
The unique S-bend neck and grip area enables left-handed writers to hold the pen comfortably at a balanced angle and easily view all letters and words as they are written, just as right-handers do.
“We don’t want children to be held back from being left-handed anymore,” Mike Deacon told ISG at Sourcing and Innovation Days 2008. “At first the pen was developed solely for left-handers, but we found that it also helped right-handers because the design enables you to see what you are writing more clearly.”
