Small businesses give pessimistic outlook - France

The current crisis is considered more serious by French small businesses than that of 2008-2009, according to a survey conducted by Fiducial / Ifop.

Business owners with fewer than 19 employees, which number about 2.4 million, are anxious about the economy. When asked about the overall business climate in France, only 23% said they were optimistic, according to the 44th edition of the survey, the lowest level for ten years.

62% anticipate serious consequences from the current economic situation and these fears have meant lower forecasts for growth, investment and job creation.
