Online office supplies retailer Shoplet.com says that 60,000 trees have been saved since 2008, the year it introduced its proprietary "Green-Your-Cart" and "Green Calculator" web applications.

The U.S. retailer has over 8,000 eco-friendly items available and developed the "Green-Your-Cart" and "Green Calculator" applications. The "Green-Your-Cart" tool helps consumers convert the contents of their shopping cart into more environmentally friendly products and the "Green Calculator" tells customers what the impact of all the green purchases have made on Shoplet.com since the program began. Shoplet reports that sales of green products rose 1200% in 2010 and 430% in 2011.

Founded in 1994, Shoplet.com says it is the #1 ranked virtual e-tailer both in terms of traffic and sales, as well as the overall category's 4th ranked online traffic leader behind Staples, Office Depot, and Office Max.
