Ricoh Company has endorsed the Cancun Communiqué on Climate Change, that calls for an ambitious, robust and equitable global deal on climate change, ahead of the 16th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Cancun, Mexico in December 2010.
The Cancun Communiqué is an initiative of the Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders’ Group on Climate Change which is run by the University of Cambridge.
Ricoh President & CEO Shiro Kondo said: “Global warming is having a disastrous impact on the planet and large-scale climate related crises are increasingly seen around the world.
However, I am personally convinced that we are still at a stage where we can turn this problem around by 2050 if enough sensible people unite around the world in a common cause.
“Climate change is an enormous problem which cannot be solved solely through the effort of a few countries and corporations. It is of paramount importance that many enterprises address this issue seriously in their communications and visions.”
