OfficeMax New Zealand and Corporate Express New Zealand have been awarded state sector-wide contracts in New Zealand, the first time such a system has been used in the country.

Speaking on the government’s sourcing policy, Minister for Economic Development Gerry Brownlee said :“We’re harnessing the collective buying power of the whole state sector for the first time, and the benefit to government and taxpayers will be significant.

“The New Zealand government spends about NZ$30 billion a year on goods and services – by being smarter about how we spend that money, we can get better results for taxpayers.”
