Office Depot uses Youtube to defend pricing allegations - USA

Office Depot’s president Steve Schmidt has responded to allegations of overcharging by former employee David Sherwin on YouTube.

On at 6 minute video on YouTube Schmidt said: "Mr. Sherwin is a disgruntled former employee, who with financial support from Office Depot competitors, has initiated an aggressive negative campaign filled with false and misleading allegations to serve his own agenda.”

“David Sherwin was fired for writing profane and threatening e-mails," he added.

Sherwin admits he was fired from his position as an account manager in 2008. He also admits to getting money from office depot competitors, but he says its only enough to keep a roof over his head.

Last week, the Lee County School District in Florida announced nearly $300,000 in refunds, and that it was cutting off business with the company. When announcing the refunds, the superintendent credited Sherwin's assistance. "He has helped many districts in the United States recover money that, had it not been made public, none of us would have gotten," said Dr. James Browder last month
