Office Depot's CEO sees earnings fall in 2009 - USA

The earnings of Office Depot CEO Steve Odland for 2009 were 46 percent down from the previous year,  according to Associated Press. Odland earned $3.4 million in compensation for the year, compared to his 2008 pay of $6.3 million, which itself was a 65 percent decline from the year before.

 

The compensation details for the 2009 fiscal year were filed in a proxy statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In 2009, Odland's salary of $1 million remained steady while he received far less valuable stock and option awards. His grants for 2009 were valued at $681,360, a stark contrast from the $5 million he received in 2008.
