Newell Rubbermaid has announced that its Office Products group has opened a state-of-the-art Liquid Manufacturing and Technology Center (LMTC) in Tennessee.

The Liquid Manufacturing and Technology Center, which will manufacture ink for the company's office products brands, including Sharpie markers and highlighters and Paper Mate pens, represents a $12.5 million capital investment by Newell Rubbermaid for building and land improvements and equipment. In addition to ink manufacturing, the facility also will handle ink design and testing.

It will supply the company's nearby writing instrument manufacturing facilities in Tennessee as well as its operations in Europe, Latin America and Asia. The 6,250m2 (67,240 sq. ft.) facility is expected to be one of the largest of its type in the world.
