MeadWestvaco (MWV) has announced that it will discontinue its Consumer & Office Products’ envelope manufacturing and distribution operation at its Enfield, Conn. plant and restructure envelope operations in other areas.
These actions are part of the MWV’s accelerated strategic cost management plan, announced Jan. 15, to reduce its overhead cost structure.
Other actions include the streamlining of envelope operations at its Atlanta, Ga., facility and restructuring its sales function and staffing at its corporate office in Springfield, Mass.
The moves, which will result in 190 job cuts, will be completed in 60 days.
