At Paperworld Frankfurt, Franck Toffa, CEO of MBP, gave a more positive outlook in 2012 after a difficult 2011.
With its headquarters in Nantes, France and subsidiaries in Barcelona and Tangier, the compatible consumables manufacturer was hit in 2011 by the combined effect of the economic crisis and copies of remanufactured cartridges (clones) that it says have invaded the compatible market. This led to receivership proceedings at the end of 2011.
MBP has restructured drastically, cutting staff numbers by 50% in Nantes and moving closing down one of its two warehouses
The company reports that it has retained its customer base and increased efficiency led to group-wide profitability.
