US office furniture maker Knoll has posted second-quarter earnings that beat analysts' expectations, although sales were still down.
Net sales for the quarter ended June 30 were down 4.9 percent from a year ago, to $192.3 million, but net income was up 7.4 percent, to $8.7 million.
"I am extremely proud of the results we reported today," CEO Andrew Cogan said in a statement, citing new-product investments, as well as 2009 and 2010 industry design awards.
