U.S. office furniture manufacturer HNI has acquired Sagus International, a designer and manufacturer of educational furniture solutions.
Sagus operates primarily in North America, where it is the second-largest producer of educational furniture with annual sales in excess of $90 million. The all-cash transaction includes the three operating units of Sagus:
• Artco Bell Corp., maker of furniture for the K-12 segment, located in Temple, Texas.
• Midwest Folding Products Corp., maker of cafeteria and folding tables for schools, hospitality and commercial markets, located in Chicago.
• LSI Corp. of America Inc., maker of laminate caseworks and furniture for schools and healthcare markets, located in Plymouth, Minn.
