Office furniture and accessories manufacturer Herman Miller said its revenue rose 20.3 percent to $458.1 million, from $380.7 million a year ago in the quarter ending September 3.
Earnings also beat expectations and increased to $24.6 million from $16.1 million. “Despite concerns in the global macro economic environment, demand across our business has been remarkably resilient,” said Herman Miller CEO Brian Walker during a conference call.
Herman Miller projects sales of $440 million to $460 million for the present second quarter of FY 2012, a growth rate of 6.7 percent to 11.5 percent.
