Finnish paper giants Stora Enso and UPM say that the country's current port worker strike will force them to halt Finnish mills within a matter of days.
UPM has closed its Rauma mill and says the strike will halt all its paper mills in Finland, where it has almost half of all production, by the beginning of next week.
The strike jeopardizes Finland’s recovery from its biggest economic slump, cutting off 90 percent of exports as port workers refuse to load and unload ships.
Finland’s government isn’t planning to stop the strike, according to Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen.
