Dell has increased its buyout offer for 3Par Inc. to $24.30 per share in cash, narrowly beating a bid submitted by Hewlett Packard earlier in the week.
Dell says that data storage provider 3Par accepted its latest offer, which trumps a $24-per-share unsolicited bid made by HP on Monday.
The latest deal values 3Par at about $1.6 billion, net of 3Par's cash. Dell's earlier bid valued the company at $1.15 billion
Dell had signed a deal with 3Par last week to buy the company for $18 per share.
