Plans for the closure of the Marlenheim factory of office furniture maker Steelcase have been rejected by French courts for not following correct legal procedures.
According to Bruno Pannekoecke of the CGT trade union, Steelcase “did not respect the consultation of labour unions or inform the employees of the date of the redundancies.”
Steelcase, which plans 130 staff redeployments at sites in the Bas-Rhin and Moselle, will now have to start legal procedures again.
