Danish software developer Comapping has entered into a strategic product development and marketing alliance with US Mead Consumer and Office Products, a division of MeadWestvaco (MWV). The collaboration between the two companies has led to the development of Mead Map (www.meadmap.com), the first Web-based mind mapping application designed for the education community.
Under the terms of the alliance, MWV is marketing Mead Map in the North American markets. Mead Map is designed for students to use for organizing, note-taking, sharing study notes, managing group project work, and collaborating with other students.
While Mead Map focuses on the education market, Comapping continues to target the corporate sector with a similar collaboration tool for brainstorming, information sharing, minute taking and project management. In particular, real-time access by multiple users to a common map saves a lot of travelling and e-mails, and makes conference calls more effective and useful.
