Canon has launched its latest flagship projector, the XEED WUX5000, the first projector in the Canon range which offers a high 5000 lumens brightness, with virtually no reduction in brightness, even over its maximum throw distance of 48.5 metres.

Canon says that its LCOS panels with WUXGA resolution provide outstanding image quality without the often experienced “rainbow” and “lattice” effects of rival projection technologies. The WUX5000 is compatible with three different lenses that allow image sizes of between 40 inches and 600 inches. It also offers 360 degree projection, including onto the floor or ceiling.

This flexibility makes the WUX5000 suitable in various environments such as retail, leisure, education or corporate. In addition, its motorised lens shift allows the installer to reposition the display using either the projector’s control panel or the remote control handset, making it easy for only one person to install, saving time and money. Its advanced technology allows images to be adjusted to within 0.5 pixels both vertically and horizontally.

The Canon XEED WUX5000 will be available across Europe from Q1 2012.
