BIC reported a 4.7% increase in net profit to 151.7 million euros for 2009, ahead of anylsts expectations. Stationery sales were down 6.2% on a comparative basis for 2009. An improvement was shown in Q4 but the French manufacturer still registered a 1.5% fall to 149.5 million euros.

“The acquisition of Norwood Promotional Products positions BIC as a leader in Advertising and Promotional Products and gives us a significant platform from which to drive the growth of this industry as the economy recovers.”
