office furniture manufacturer Ahrend has expanded its existing 75% interest in TECHO, market leader in the field of office furnishing in Central and Eastern Europe, to 100%.

 

TECHO, with its headquarters in the Czech capital city of Prague, has 328 employees, a turnover of € 43.4 million (2007) and activities in the Czech Republic, Rumania, Hungary, Slovakia and the United Kingdom. For many years TECHO has shown above-average growth in Central and Eastern Europe, with turnover expanding by 49% in 2007.

 

Ahrend concluded a strategic cooperative alliance with TECHO in 2003; its current holding dates from October 2005. “In the years that we have been working with TECHO, the company has performed excellently and has shown above-average growth and healthy profit figures each year”, says Ahrend board chairman Jacq de Bruin. "This is a logical step in our strategy to strengthen our position in Central and Eastern Europe. The region shows considerable economic growth every year, and this is reflected in the good sales potential for office furnishing.”
