Acrimet climbs to the top of the Americas - Argentina

After months of hard preparation and training, the Acrimet mountaineering team travelled to Argentina in January 2012 to Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas (6,962 metres).

The objective was to conquer the summit of the Stone Sentine, which is the local name of the mountain. After many days of hiking and adventure the team settled in camp Nido de Condores (5,400 metres altitude), where they had to face days of heavy snowfall, winds and temperatures below -20 degrees Celsius. For security reasons they were forced to descend the mountain and leave the climb for another year.

“Our expedition really had a good time there with amazing views, encouraging those who appreciate nature,” commented Jaime Nascimento of Acrimet.
