Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd announced today the appointment of Patrick Young as manager of its Electronic Cash Register (ECR), Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) and Consumer Technology Products (CTP) division.
The appointment signals an “open for business” approach from Sharp to the office products and equipment and retail automation markets as it embarks on a campaign to encourage new direct and indirect reseller partnerships and to further develop existing relationships.
Young said: “Sharp wants to talk to resellers about the new opportunities it’s offering in all five of its business product groups, including ECR/EPoS, personal and business multi functional products (MFP), calculators and fax machines.
“Going forward as a business we’re actively looking to form new partnerships in the reseller market for both our established solutions and the exciting new products coming in the next 12 months. This includes strengthening relationships with indirect partners in the office products sector who are interested in the calculator & EOS business, dealers in the retail automation sector who might want to expand into full EPoS solutions and resellers selling print and MFP solutions who want to ally themselves with a solid reliable brand like Sharp.”
Young has 15 years experience in the electronics industry on both the dealer and distribution sides of the business in office equipment, communications and IT. He joined Sharp’s document solutions division at the end of 2006 and prior to that spent more than eight years at Samsung and two years at Canon.
